The Good Room was started in late 2007 as we saw a need for a place to put all the “special” items we receive, whether it be new, old or quirky.
The Good Room has been a tremendous success both for customers, but also for people donating some of their special items and they can see that they will be well looked after and valued.
We pre-sort for Good Room items at the Receival Station and take items to the back of the Good Room throughout the week.
Every Wednesday morning we have three dedicated volunteers who come in and sort what is actually Good Room items and what can go out in the Shop. The remaining items are washed and priced before going into the Good Room.
In time for Aroundagain’s 10th birthday in October 2010, we gave a complete facelift and it now looks amazing as can be seen on these photos You need to come in on a regular basis as “things come and go” fairly quickly! The best time is probably on Wednesday after lunch when we re-open the Good Room after restocking
